I never thought about how many different types of pill boxes there were until I started writing this post. As I started researching the different types of organizers for this post I was amazed. It’s unbelievable how many different types of pill boxes there are!
Since there are so many different options out there, how do you know what to look for? How do you know which organizer is going to be the best one for you?
So many things to think about! I’ve tried to help you out by separating what I found into different categories.
No matter how many times per day you take pills, there is a weekly pill box organizer to accommodate you. Personally I use the weekly pill boxes and fill 3 or 4 of them at a time. Filling my pill boxes is not one of my favorite tasks to do so I like to get as many done as I can at one time. That way I only have to do it once a month or so. This saves me a ton of time and energy. Using the weekly pill boxes gives me the option of how many I want to do at a time. However, you may prefer to do a month a time. Keep scrolling to see those. 🙂
A monthly pill organizer will save you a ton of time and keep you organized for a full four weeks. If you get your prescriptions filled on a monthly basis like I do, a monthly pill organizer will help you visually see when it is getting time to refill. They are available in boxes that hold two times a day or three.
If you or a loved one have trouble remembering when to take your pills, one of these electronic pill boxes with alarms will keep you on track. An alarm will sound to remind you that it is time to take your pills. Very handy!
If you have rheumatoid arthritis, then you may have pills that you don’t want anyone else getting into. These locking pill boxes are designed to deter a toddler or maybe a person with dementia from getting into the pill bottle or box. The alarm adds an extra layer of protection to the child safety cap. Thus, making it convenient for you to be able to get in them while at the same time slowing down people who shouldn’t.
Keep in mind that none of these products are going to be strong enough to keep out someone who really wants in there. In the event you have someone living with you or visiting that could be abusing drugs, then you need to keep your prescriptions under lock and key in something like a household safe where only you and one other person you trust know the combination.
A travel pill organizer will allow you to leave all of your pill bottles at home thus saving packing space.

Don’t like carrying a purse? Or are you a guy who needs to take pills with you to take during the day? The perfect solution is to put your pills on your keychain! There is a wide variety of options. All the way from a tiny container that will just hold two aspirins to one that is super sturdy in case you have pills you need to keep secure. There is even an option that will allow you to put it on your keyring or wear as a necklace.

Carry your pills with you wherever you go in style. So many decorative pill boxes to choose from!
Personalized pill boxes make awesome gifts. Make your gift special by adding a little extra love. Add a special saying or a monogram a box. You can even add a picture so every time they use it, they will think of you.
