Arthritic hands deserve the best graters peelers and slicers! I have put together a collection that have large handles. This makes them easy to grip making them easier for arthritic hands to manipulate.
All of the graters I have chosen have nice big handles on them making it easier for arthritic hands to grip.
The OXO Good Grips Grater has a soft, comfortable, non-slip handle that will cushion your hands. The non-slip foot on it also provides control while you are grating.
Has a sharp, bi-directional, stainless steel grating surface. This allows for fast easy grating. Works great on foods such as hard cheeses, zucchini, carrots, chocolate, ginger, citrus and coconut.
Dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
Peeling vegetables is not always an easy task for someone with arthritic hands. Therefore, it is imperative to have good equipment!
The first two peelers below are the ones I own and I love them! The Pampered Chef vegetable peeler is my favorite. I lost it for a while and I missed it so much. So I had to buy a new one! I was happy to have found it on Amazon. There are a few negative reviews on Amazon with this peeler, but I am not sure why. I have had mine for years and have had no problems with it whatsoever.
My next favorite is the Cutco vegetable peeler. It has a little larger handle on it and also fits nicely in my crooked hands.
I admit, some may feel that these two peelers are on the expensive side. But sometimes good things come at a higher price. In my opinion they are well worth it! 🙂
Again, if you have arthritic hands, owning good equipment is necessary. I am going to sort my vegetable slicer suggestions by type; ones with boxes and ones without. They are also sorted by the highest recommendations.
I chose the Prepworks by Progressive Adjust-A-Slice Mandoline. The reason I chose it is because it fits nicely in a drawer. Therefore, it does not take up a bunch of room in my cupboards. I have had it for a year or so now and it works very well.
