Sock-Aid-Tool

A sock aid is a tool that helps people put on socks without bending over. It can be especially helpful for people who have difficulty bending down or reaching their feet. If you are recovering from back, knee or hip surgery, it now becomes a necessity. That is unless you have a person who truly loves you a lot. They must be willing to put your socks on and take them off for you.  Personally, I like to be as independent as possible. I had back surgery, so I needed to find a sock aid. I wanted to do that task myself. After all, my husband had enough other things to do to take care of me and the house.

How To Choose

At first, I thought – oh, they all look the same. I decided I would just order the cheapest one since I would only need it a few weeks. But then I started doing some research and discovered there are several differences between the models.

For example, do you need to put on compression stockings? Not all sock aids will work with compression stockings.

Do you have weak hands? Probably so if you are on this site. There are models that are softer and more adaptable to weak hands than others.

Do you have the use of only one hand or arm? A single cord sock aid is going to work best for you.

If you are having trouble getting your shoes on, then you may also have difficulty with your pants. I found a couple of models that also included pants helpers .

I researched all of the sock aids that were ranking well on Amazon. Then, I broke them down into categories for you. Let’s see what I found.
